A while back, I talked about an equation I developed to align a grid to a baseline in order to speed up my print design process. A couple of people commented, saying that you guys could benefit from a visual representation to visualize just how the equation works.
So I’d like to let you know that I’ve been hard at work these past couple of days to fulfill that request and that I’m happy to announce the release of Baseline Aligned Grid. I got a little carried away, and went past “visual representation” and into “web application”. So hopefully, you guys will get some use out of it. I know I will. Continue reading →
I used to be indecisive. Now, I’m not sure.

This worked before. Maybe it’ll work again.
Introduction
Chris, a good friend of mine, has recently informed me of a series of disturbing events concerning the Catholic Church (Henceforth to be referred to as “the CC”). It seems that Quezon City Councilor Joseph Juico is being harassed by the CC. Long story short, Juico is the main sponsor of the population management and reproductive health ordinance for the city, and now the CC and its constituents are conducting highly juvenile behavior.
This is unacceptable.
Make no mistake: I am good friends with an endless number of catholics, and I consider as friends certain individual priests and brothers (All of whom are pointedly Jesuit) who, priestly as they may be, are respectable and reasonable. My beef is with the rest of the CC, and how they conduct themselves. Continue reading →
A couple of days ago, while putting on my socks, I had an epiphany.
Omnipotence and/or omniscience is torture. Pure, utter torture. I’m telling you, if God exists, he would not like his existence—in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had offed himself a few hundred-million years ago. Maybe that’s why we don’t come across any omniscient/omnipotent beings nowadays. Continue reading →
Who knew sleeping people could be so fascinating?
The photographer used shutter speeds of up to 6 hours. I’m tempted to try it out on myself.
And now for a screenie/preview so you all have an idea.

Fascinating, isn’t it?

After three days of programming a solver in flex, I finally have the time and energy to update this blog. This post is actually long overdue: My classmates in Thermodynamics will probably recognize this.
Don’t let the word thermodynamics scare you. It’s just a title given to a field of study relating to how heat behaves. More or less. It’s governed by four laws, all of which pretty much makes logical sense, even if you don’t understand the math of it. I won’t explain to you all the laws, as only one of them is relevant in this Mad Scientist Moment: The Second Law of Thermodynamics. (Cue dramatic reverb).
You see, I have found the Ultimate Weapon. The hand of Death. The destroyer of worlds. It will be able to destroy anything it touches, even diamond. Nothing is safe, my friends. Nothing. You might as well give up and kill yourselves. But before I reveal my evil discovery, I will explain. Continue reading →
A fascinating article by Chris Ahearn, the Media President at Reuters.
I believe in the link economy. Please feel free to link to our stories — it adds value to all producers of content. I believe you should play fair and encourage your readers to read-around to what others are producing if you use it and find it interesting.

Let’s stop whining and start having real conversations across party lines. Let’s get online publishers, search engines, aggregators, ad networks, and self-publishers (bloggers) in a virtual room and determine how we can all get along. I don’t believe any one of us should be the self-appointed Internet police; agreeing on a code of conduct and ethics is in everyone’s best interests.
Very well written article and I wholeheartedly agree. I sincerely hope this changes a lot of people’s minds for the better. In the spirit of Reuters’ enlightenment, *links*

Manila Bulletin fail.
Read the caption. Philip commented on this image: “On the other hand, they’re pretty forward-thinking.”
As some of you may recall, this isn’t the first time this has happened.
